Pick your own Sunflowers

Since the Dix Park sunflower field was cancelled this year, we headed out to Pace Family Farms to attend one of their Sunflower Days events. We were able to pick and take home a few gorgeous sunflowers and get some family pictures as well! We enjoyed wandering through the fields and seeing all of the pollinators on the flowers. Beware if you’re scared of bees though – you will get up close and personal!

Buy some Produce

While we were there we browsed the produce at the farm stand and grabbed some Kona Ice from the truck parked onsite. We spoke with one of the owners and they seemed like a great family and told us they have been living in Archer’s Lodge for over 6 generations! They said in the fall months they will have all of your traditional produce like pumpkins and sweet potatoes. They also host an annual craft fair in December.

Support Local

This family farm may not be a huge attraction like Hill Ridge Farms, but it’s a great place to get some fresh, local produce, and pick some of your own fruit right off the vine. Support a local family and make a pit stop today!

They plan on having another Sunflower Days event, so keep an eye out on the Facebook Page for updates. They don’t give a lot of forewarning when they schedule their events so you’ll have to be ready!

the fields are planted for fall. Can’t wait to see it in October!
