Wake Up and Read is a coalition of community partners dedicated to improving literacy within kids across Wake County. As a part of this goal, they have organized a summer book drive to provide free books for all kids under the age of 12. All children and their caregivers are eligible to use the program to obtain free books to enjoy at home.

Based on the schedule below, prepackaged books based on grade level will be provided at meal distribution sites across Wake county. You can get free books even if you are not utilizing the meal service (although that is free for all kids too!). We have added these events to our Raleigh Tot Spot calendar for your reference.
