I know a lot of kids just recently learned to ride their bikes during quarantine – my 5 year old included! But for those who may need a little extra help or may want to refine their new biking skills, there’s a class for that! Let’s Ride kids biking classes are kicking off their fall semester September 22nd, 2020. They offer 8-week class sessions for ages 18 months to 8 years old.

Classes by Age Group

Let’s be honest – As parents, sometimes it’s hard to teach your kids a new skill. You may know it really well, but not have the ability to teach it to someone else. Also due to personality differences your kids may learn better from someone else.

I feel like teaching a kid to ride a bike is one of those skills. We all know how to ride, but do we actually know how to teach someone the mechanics to ride themselves? Leave it to the experts! Let’s Ride will teach your kids the skills they need to know to successfully learn how to ride a pedal bike. After that, they provide classes that expand on those skills and add fun obstacles to keep it interesting!

Balance Bike Buddies

Balance Bike Buddies is for the smallest riders. Kids 18 months to 4 years old will get a great introduction to bike riding through fun games and obstacle challenges. On a balance bike they don’t have to worry about the mechanics of pedaling just yet. Instead they can perfect the art of balancing on two wheels first. Once they get good at balancing they can move up to pedaling!

Pumped to Pedal

Pumped to Pedal is designed for kids 4 to 8 years old who are ready to learn how to ride a big kid bike with pedals! Kids will learn the fundamentals of bike handling and work on their balance, body awareness, and hand-eye coordination. They will have so much fun playing games, skills drills, and going through the obstacle course that they won’t even realize they are learning and gaining strength at the same time!

Ready Riders

Ready Riders is for kids 4 to 8 years old that have already learned how to ride a pedal bike and want to develop their skills even further! This is the class where you will learn how to jump so you can compete in a Capital City BMX meet at Lions Park!

Private Lessons

Private lessons are also offered if you are interested in getting that 1:1 attention. Lessons are available for any age and skill level and are tailored to your child’s individual needs, giving them the opportunity to master skills and progress at their own pace. These lessons can be scheduled whenever and wherever is convenient for you, so this offers optimum flexibility for the busy family.

Pricing and Location Information

Check their website for the most up to date pricing, but it usually runs about $15 per class. Classes are currently offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and run for an 8 week session. All classes are held at newly renovated Fleming Loop Park in Fuquay-Varina, unless you book a private lesson and pick a different location.
