Zebulon Community Park is the largest park in Zebulon consisting of 47.5 acres containing two athletic fields, walking trails, two outdoor basketball courts, a disc golf course, two playgrounds and a picnic shelter.

Playground

Unfortunately the playground was closed while we were there so we didn’t actually get to play on it. But, it looks like a great space with lots of different structures to explore. There were also swings and a rope climbing net located in the back. It looked very toddler friendly with lots of separate, small, low to the ground structures for the little ones. We will definitely be back to check it out once it’s open again!

I also really appreciated that the picnic shelter and bathrooms were right near the playground (similar to Baileywick). It’s always convenient for a birthday party, or, you know, just every day life with toddlers who have to go to the bathroom every few minutes!

Disc Golf Course

Zebulon Community Park is home to another great Disc Golf Course if you like to throw a frisbee! We’ve added it to our directory of courses here.

Foot Golf Course

What is foot golf, you ask? Well, I didn’t know what it was either, but the Zebulon Parks and Rec team has setup a course at Zebulon Community park for your enjoyment! Basically it’s soccer golf, where you kick a soccer ball from your tee and try to get it into the “hole” within the par of the course. It looked like a creative way to spend some time during social distancing!

Basketball and Baseball

There is a basketball court and baseball field onsite at the park as well. The walking trail actually goes around the field.

Walking Trail

The walking trail at Zebulon Community Park was just the right length for my toddlers, but if you’re an avid walker or runner it may be a little short for you.

I enjoyed walking through the wooded area between the playground and the baseball field. The path was a little narrow, but it was paved. There was one little unpaved trail we chose to take, but other than that it is pretty stroller friendly.

We were there on a rainy day, so there were lots of puddles to splash in! Just goes to show that rainy day activities don’t all have to be inside!

While you’re in the area you could also check out Little River Park for some “beach” fun in the sand and water!
