Looking for another great place to take a walk? Look no further than North Cary Park! This park has baseball, basketball, sand volleyball, plus a playground, climbing wall, and picnic area.

Sand Volleyball

The most unlikely hit with my kids at this park was the sand volleyball court. I guess a giant sandbox would be popular with any kid after they’ve been stuck inside for weeks on end. 🤷 We didn’t even have any sand toys but they rolled around and played for a good 30 minutes before our walk. Good news is that you can totally avoid this part of the park if you need to!

Playground

The playground was closed when we visited, but it looked like a fun spot for the kids! It was a smaller playground, but it was tucked back in a cute little nook. There were a couple unique slides built into the hill like you see at Anderson Point. The surface was a combination of mulch and the rubberized surface we love at Abbott’s Creek.

There were also a couple of bucket swings available for the little ones and lots of bench seating for the parents. There’s also a small sandbox in the play area, so I guess you can’t completely get away from the sand here! 😂

Walk the Trails

I really enjoyed walking the trails at this park! It’s mainly shaded and you will cross over a few bridges with a nice view of the stream.

My only complaint about North Cary Park is the lack of signage and maps. The kids and I wandered pretty far into the park and then had to figure out how to make our way back to the entrance, which was actually a little difficult with all the turns we made! On our way we stumbled upon this large open field in the middle of the park, which was perfect to sit and take a rest. The kids had so much fun running around here and we ended up staying here for almost an hour!!

Climbing Wall

Unfortunately we never made it to the climbing wall, but it looks like it could be fun to try! Not too terribly high and the younger kids that shouldn’t be climbing it probably wouldn’t be able to make it up anyway!
