Let’s check out another Raleigh playground! Exploring parks is one of our favorite things to do!! Lockwood park is in Northwest Raleigh and has that great rubber surface we all love, which is perfect for crawling babies!

Lockwood park has the makings of a great playground: rubber surface, fully gated, and the green way access is just behind it. Unfortunately it’s not the best for younger tots. I would say it’s good for age 2.5 and up. Some of the equipment would be more challenging for those under 2 years.

There is also a sandbox area if that is your sort of thing. My children love the sandbox, but sometimes I avoid sandbox playgrounds if we need to go somewhere after we play.  There’s also a small mulch area under the swings.

There are also NO bathrooms onsite, so that’s going to be a drawback for some of you. But if you are in the area and need a quick stop for kids to burn off some energy, check out this park!
