My first impression of this playground was underwhelming and I thought we would be there all of 5 minutes before my kids were ready to go.

The first thing you see when you drive up is trailer bathroom:

The bathrooms are actually quite nice inside. I love a playground with a bathroom because inevitably we have to use them.

The playground itself is mostly climbing structures, similar to the indoor playground at the Greystone Recreation Center, if you’ve been there. It is separated into 2 sections, a 2-5 year old section and a 5-12 year old section. Both of them are fairly small. No swings and slides, just climbing equipment on a wood chip surface.

First impressions are often deceiving and this was no exception. My 3 year old daughter said, “Mommy, this playground is FUN!!” multiple times and we were there close to an hour and a half.

My 18 month old son liked the steering wheel/tennis ball sorter:

My 3 year old did not play at the 2-5 year old side for too long, she spent most of her time at the 5-12 year old side.

So, should you go???

If you are near the Leesville area, definitely yes!

I am not sure I would drive very far to go, however.

Pro’s:

  • Toddler area has a sun cover
  • unique playground equipment, including toddler size monkey bars
  • Bathrooms nearby
  • Perfect for playtime before or after story time at the Leesville library, library is just a short walk from playground

Con’s:

  • Older toddlers/preschoolers will likely be bored at the 2-5 area quickly and will want to climb on the structure for the older kids. Some things on the older children playground require a good bit of skill and balance.
  • Not the best playground for younger toddlers (ages 1-2), very little for them to do.
