Speaking of tours, did you know you can tour any Raleigh Fire Station? All you need to do is call in advance and they will give you a day and time to come visit the station!

Pick your location

We’ve toured Fire Station 27 at Buffaloe Road Park and Aquatic Center and also Fire Station 17 over on Pleasant Valley. Fire Station 17 did a lot more for the kids, like pulling out the ladder truck and letting the kids spray the water hose, but we might have gotten special treatment since we knew a firefighter there. 😁

My girl spraying the water hose. Of course she brought Marshall the fire pup to the fire station with her!
A fire-woman actually climbed to the top of the ladder! It gave me anxiety just watching her!

I really liked Fire Station 27 at Buffaloe Road Park because we were able to play at the park prior to our tour time and then just walk over to the station. It would be a great setup for a firefighter themed birthday party!

Learn about Fire Safety

During the tour we learned a little about fire safety, like how to stop, drop, and roll. The firefighters showed us all of their gear and put it on, and also let the kids sit in the fire truck. According to their tour submission form they may do some more educational activities like how to use a fire extinguisher, but we had a group of 2-4 year old’s so they didn’t go into all of that for us. Thank goodness – can you imagine toddlers with fire extinguishers! 😂

Running around the truck bay

After the tour, each station gave the kids a firefighter hat and activity book. My kids loved it all, especially since they are big paw patrol fans and Marshall is their favorite pup!

Get a group together and go schedule a tour today!
