If you have been following Raleigh Tot Spots for awhile, then you have already seen the review for the Defy Gravity- Raleigh location. The 2 locations are different enough to warrant a separate review for each.

So, both location have kid jump from 9:00-10:00 am Monday through Friday, which is an awesome time to go if you don’t want your kid to be clobbered by big kids. Especially when most schools are out. During the school year it may not be as big of an issue.

So this is kid jump:

Special jump time for the kiddo’s every Monday-Friday from 9am-10am is EXCLUSIVELY for children 6 and younger (and their parents). Any time between 9am-12pm children (ages 6 & under) pay the regular price of $10/hour…and 1 accompanying adult jumps free!

It’s really nice that adults jump free, because for most of you reading this blog, you are going to have to be actively involved in this activity. It’s not really a sit down and drink coffee while the kids play activity – unless they are a bit older. But even my 4 year old needs occasional assistance and wants me to play to.

That’s fine. Jumping on trampolines is surprisingly fun as an adult.

New rule that’s changed since we went to the Raleigh location – trampoline socks are required. I’m not sure if that is specific to this location or at all defy gravity locations. Specifically you have to have defy gravity socks. We brought our Sky Zone socks but still had to purchase defy gravity specific socks.  They are $2-3 a pair. That’s a tad annoying. I mean they are exactly the same except for color.

So I now have a small drawer full of trampoline socks from various locaitons. File that under unexpected things about parenting.

This location is a good bit smaller than Raleigh, and it’s important to note that the Raleigh location has a toddler specific area (Durham does not.) So if you are going later in the day I would highly recommend the Raleigh location. Benefit to Durham location? It’s a good bit smaller – much easier to keep track of multiple kids. That also means it gets crowded more quickly too. Both locations have large areas of foam blocks that kids may get stuck in but then still repeatedly go back into them. Because why not?

I foresee trampoline parks being in our activity set for years to come. Both kids love it and I am pretty sure my daughter was born to jump. She sets aside time during her day to just “work on her jumps”. So a trampoline park is paradise.  Pretty fun for adults too. Check out other indoor play ideas here.
