So this morning I started off at Sertoma Art Center and ran 2.6 miles to North Hills Park. It’s a nice little run – you go under Millbrook Road so the only street you have to cross is North hills drive, which is about 2 miles into the run. It has a nice crosswalk so even though it’s a busy road it’s not hard to cross.

The path is fairly flat and most of the course runs adjacent to Mine Creek. It’s pretty scenic and a winding path. I like winding because I like to make deals with myself, like “if you can just run to the next curve…”. If a path is too straight, not only do I get bored, but it’s also just too daunting.

This part of the greenway has a fair amount of cracks and bumps, just FYI if that bothers you.

Just before North Hills Park you will run up a HUGE hill. Think almost Lake Johnson big. I had to run/walk intervals up that hill, but it’s only about the last 1/3 mile. I was fortunate enough to have my husband and kids pick me up at North hills so my run didn’t increase to 5.2 miles today!

I followed that run with Lunch at Smashburger. I am off gluten these days and they have gluten free buns and the best fries in town! Well, just to be clear I have not tried all the fries in Raleigh…but these are seasoned with rosemary and they are SO GOOD. On second thought maybe I should have run back to Sertoma and logged 5.2 miles today 🙂
