If you find yourself out in Holly Springs, be sure to swing by Parrish Womble Park! It’s your one stop shop for all of your outdoor recreation needs, including a playground, tennis courts, baseball fields, sand volleyball, horseshoes, picnic shelters, and the greenway.

Honestly, Parrish Womble Park seems to have everything. It reminded me a lot of Flaherty Park in Wake Forest, since it was a bustling outdoor recreation area with lots of activities to choose from.

Playground

At first glance, I immediately noticed the large, shaded playground. It was not fenced in, but it was set back from the parking lot right next to the picnic shelter. Unfortunately it was closed during the pandemic, but it looked like it had a lot to offer! I love playgrounds with the rubberized surface, so we will definitely add it to our list to visit once it reopens!

It’s also handy that the picnic shelters and restroom are adjacent to the playground. This place would be a great spot for an outdoor birthday party!

Outdoor Recreation

If you’re looking for lots of green space to run and play, you won’t be disappointed at Parrish Womble Park! There were lots of people taking advantage of the athletic fields while we were there, so go schedule a pickup game with a friend! You can play volleyball, soccer, baseball, and horseshoes, or really any field game! Check the schedule for free play times.

If you’re up for a walk, the greenway at Womble Park actually connects to Bass Lake Park as well! There you can walk around the lake and rent a canoe to explore on the water!

For an indoor play option, visit The Playhouse Children’s Museum in nearby Fuquay-Varina!
