I took a scuba diving certification course in college and wanted to take my husband scuba diving on our honeymoon in Hawaii. In order to get him prepared for the experience, I booked a Scuba Diving intro course with Gypsy Divers. We did our first lesson at Gypsy Swim school almost 10 years ago! How funny is it that I am now looking at them for swim lessons for my kids?! My how times have changed!

Gypsy Swim School is a private, indoor pool that offers private and group swim lessons plus camps and swim team. They also partner with Gypsy Divers for scuba diving lessons for those age 12 and over! Perhaps the most exciting right now during the pandemic, they are offering fall swim camps to assist families with students doing virtual learning.

Fall Swim Camp

Gypsy Swim School is offering half day and full day camp options this fall. Enrollment is limited to between 10-20 campers total, but they will be kept in small groups of 5 when not in the pool. Campers will receive daily group swim lessons, free swim time, study time, educational and technical help, basic school supplies, and healthy snacks. Alternate activities will be provided for students currently without school work. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!

Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons at Gypsy Swim School run 30 minutes and only have 4 students per instructor, unless you select a private lesson. Classes are grouped by age and skill level so everyone is comfortable and ready to learn. They even offer adult classes! Check out their website for more information.

Pandemic Policies and Procedures

Gypsy Swim School has added a few guidelines to follow when at their facility. They ask that students come dressed and ready in their swim suit. Showers are limited to only rinsing off before and after swimming, and the pool is tested twice a day to ensure cleanliness of the water. There is currently no evidence to suggest that COVID-19 can pass from person to person through pool water.

If you’re looking for other swim lesson options, try City of Raleigh Swim Lessons which hope to be back up and running soon.
