The pandemic has brought upon a resurgence of interest in Drive-in movie theaters, the perfect way to get out of the house and safely social distance! The closest drive in to Raleigh is Raleigh Road Outdoor Theater in Henderson. If you’re looking for something a little closer, Food Truck Flix is here to save the day!
A team of food trucks in the Raleigh area have teamed up to bring a pop-up drive-in movie experience to different locations in RTP every week. Each Food Truck Flix event will have a rotation of food trucks available to purchase concessions. While you chow down on some delicious grub, a feature film will be screened outside for you to enjoy. Online ordering is available via Street Food Finder.
Admission to the event is per car, not per person. Load up your car and split the cost for the best deal! All profits from the car passes will be donated to a different non profit each month. Purchase your pass in advance and find out what movie will be showing that week. Rio is coming up on August 8th, Horton Hears a Who on August 15th, and Spies in Disguise on August 29th. Movies will be located at either Focus Church (7000 Destiny Dr) or Frontier RTP (700 Park Offices Dr).
